Alexander McQueen Skull Scarf.

Following on from my post about Signature Pieces, here's my next one and a great idea for any one in need of addition to the wardobe. The Alexander McQueen skull scarf speaks for itself. its daring, edgy and slightly punk skull design is combined with a soft delicate chiffon fabric. The scarf also comes in a fantastic range of colours to suit all. For the more tom boy and punky personalites there is the original black and white version or the red and black version and for the more girly personalities there's the pink and white version or blue and white versions. And as i recently discovered on a trip to Selfridges and Co, there is now a black and floral version! You now have the choice of Chiffon or silk. i personally am going for the chiffon. Prices are about £225 at the moment and are avaliable from Harvey Nichols, Harrods, and Selfridges and Co. A pricey accessory but it really does upgrade any outfit from cheap to chic and paired with some aviator sunglasses would make for a sensational summer look.

Your Signature Piece.

The Signature Piece. A person's trademark. That one piece of clothing that defines a person and has such power that it can work by itself. Yes, the signature piece fly's solo. Usually the signature piece is thought of as a Coat - a campaign from winter 2010 " The right coat can make a outfit", or a piece of fine jewellery such as a Cartier watch, however Signature Pieces are and should be different for everyone. They should be personal to you and reflect your  personality. I believe nowadays it is possible and even somewhat unavoidable to have more than one signature piece as the average persons wardrobe can be doubled due to affordable and fashionable clothing available to us 24/7. My signature piece's are my Gucci sunglasses as pictured in my previous post, my Tiffany and Co bracelet, and my miss Selfridge leopard print scarf. I soon hope to get another signature piece that has well and truly deserved a place in my signature collection- The Alexander McQueen skull scarf.
Your Signature piece, if you haven't got it already, will find you. You will be wandering through the aisles of h&m or walking through the 3rd floor of Selfridges and Co speechlessly and then ...the penny will drop. There will be your own unique piece of fashion that has your name written all over it.
Now when you have selected you Signature Piece, it is important to remember, it works best on it's own so try not to put it with something too over powering like a patterned fabric. And with accessories , try not to pile on the bangles or wear a loud necklace that could clash. As Coco Chanel said "when accessorising always take the last thing you put on off.

Our Clothes say a lot about who we are.

Its a known fact that our clothes says alot about who we are as a person. Our personalities are reflected in our clothing in such a way that a someone can make an asumption as to what kind of person you are as soon as they see you. For example:  someone who often where's brighter and bolder colourful clothing is judged to be a happy, confident, person. A woman who often wears skirts and dresses is thought to be a feminine and gentle character. Some one who wears dark clothing and alot of grey is often judged as a quiet and reserved person who likes to feel safe rather than opting for the more vibrant daring coloured clothing which objects them to more attention.
It is important when selecting our outfits that we think about our personalities and what we are about as well as the current trends.  This is because we must feel comfortable in our clothing in order to carry it off. Remember sexiness isn't just about the image, it's also about the attitude, so its no good putting on coral pink blusher and wearing an amazing floral day dress down the high street ( both of which are in at the moment) if your looking down nervously and trying to get to wherever your going as quickly as posssible. You've got to compose yourself, remember " I look hot!! and im happy with what im wearing" and hold your head up looking straight on with a smile. Not only will you feel a rush of satisfaction and sexiness, but you will also be turning heads ;) and who knows, you may even be inspiring other women to ditch the frumpy cardigan and baggy trousers and find that stylish outfit they have been wanting to dig out.

Gucci Sunglasses

OK so first fashion blog entry begins with my recent investment in this stunning pair of Gucci Sunglasses. Now before you think My wardrobe is made up of designer wear, Ill tell you that this was a once in a while treat as I actually don't own alot of designer items. So this screamed out to me because it was a kind of in between pair and by that I mean it's not to big and its not too small. This is a tortoise colour  rectangular framed pair of glasses with faded tinted lenses. These cost me £180 and they were originally £219.  I bought them from John lewis during a price matching extravaganza. One thing I love about these sunglasses is that when ever I put them on i feel like a celeb. And people really do stare as if to think hmm is she famous? I do recommend spending some time this summer finding the perfect pair of shades that will made you look and feel like an a list star.

Welcome,

Ok so for those who have seen my other blog "K is for Kimi"you may have noticed I mentioned about my original intention of opening a fashion blog. Well when making my blog I had to think of a name  and as it happens in the process  I now have made 2 blogs so have decided to dedicate this one " dressing it down" to fashion. So here I will be talking about new trends, popular styles, London style, fashion advice, my own personal taste and other cool fashion stuff really, so post any comments or questions on this blog and I will be more than happy to help. It would also help if you could give me any feedback on my blog as i am also writing this to help me gain some experience I need in fashion writing for when I start fashion college in september. Thanks guys =] x
